Conquering Dizziness Part II

I started writing about few ideas on Conquering Dizziness first post. I will expand on the benefits of regular exercise on this one. Therefore it can improve overall physical and mental health.

Get Sweating!

I find that during the sessions of vigorous exercises such as Spinning, Full body workouts like Lesmills or even CrossFit I have been able to get full relief from dizziness. It usually lasts over 2 hours after I am done. It’s a wonderful feeling.

To talk a bit about the reasons why this happens, exercise can:

  • Help your body release of endorphins, a natural pain-relieving chemical!!
  • Improves circulation and blood flow. Bringing oxygen and nutrients to the brain, likely will help reduce inflammation this way. Very similar to the acupuncture method.
  • Helps your body Detox, removing toxins from the body, some of them useful to relief migraine symptoms:
    • Sodium: helping to reduce the risk of high blood pressure
    • Lactic acid: can help to reduce muscle soreness and fatigue

How Regular Exercise Can Help Alleviate Symptoms

Exercise can help improve your physical and mental health, reduce stress and anxiety, and even relieve symptoms of certain medical conditions. One such condition is dizziness, which can be caused by a variety of factors and can be a source of frustration and discomfort.

Here are some of the ways that exercise:

  • Improving cardiovascular health: running, cycling, or swimming are great ways to increase blood flow to the brain.
  • Strengthening your vestibular system: tai chi and my favourite yoga, can help strengthen this system.

But if you are new, start slowly and see how you feel. I am sharing my experience only, everyone is different.

Don’t forget to have fun and find the sport or activity that you enjoy. There’s truly no point if exercising causes you to stress!

Diagnosed with vestibular migraine in 2016, I was totally desperate thinking it was not worth living until I found a solution that has helped me live a normal life!
